What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture NeedlesTraditional Chinese Acupuncture is a health care modality that has flourished in China for more than 5,000 years.  Acupuncture uses the application of needles and/or other stimulus to specific points on the body.  These points run along pathways, called meridians, located on the front and back of the body.  When the energy flow through the meridians is absent, interrupted, or blocked health is disrupted, resulting in illness or pain.  Frequently treated conditions include, but are not limited to, allergies, asthma, cold/flu, digestive disorders, insomnia, menopause, fertility, headaches, and musculo-skeletal pain.
